There are so many different pool table dimensions. Throughout this article, I will give some details about the pool table dimensions. I have included the actual size below and some suggested room size where you can occupy when you are playing. It was shown that you got to have a smaller room size but it is important to note that the bigger the size is the better.
Some of the details about table size surface suggested room size:
3.5′ x 7′ 39.5″ x 79″ 16′ 8″ x 13′ 6″
4′ x 8′ 44″ x 88″ 17′ 4″ x 13′ 11″
4.25′ x 8.5′ 46″ x 92″ 17′ 9″ x 14′ 1″
4.5′ x 9′ 50″ x 100″18′ 4″ x 14′ 6″
The 4.5′ x 9′5″ ft. is the regular pool table dimension we regularly see in competitions. Ideally, it is good to have something like the 18′4″ x 14′6″ room or something bigger. You should also take into consideration the size of the cue stick; the regular one is 58 inches. The size of the room is computed by basing on the length of the table plus twice the length of the cue stick and width of the pool table plus twice the length of the cue stick.
A lot have been advising that putting the pool room on the lower level of the house is not a good idea. Aside from the pool table dimensions, you should also consider that there should not be anything in the way because the lower levels usually have beams. Knowing that, you just have to make sure that the beams are at the end of the table and not on the side. You need to have more room at the end because that is where you break. By now, you can plan the room even before you get the table since you know now the dimensions.
A little tip also would be to get some short cues just in case a player needs to take a shot in front of the beam. Then, you have to ensure that you get the pool table as far as possible away from the beam. Surely, you could now improve and enjoy your game.
