The Freedom Of A Boat Share

Monday, March 21st, 2011

If you have always wanted to own a watercraft, such as a yacht, then a boat share is a great way to have ownership if you cannot quite afford to own it yourself. With having this type of agreement the maintenance and costs will be covered by such a plan. The only downfall is that it will have to be shared with others. However, this is also a resalable asset, when you decide that you no longer want it you simply sell off your part of the asset to someone that is looking to purchase one.

Sharing an asset such as watercraft lends freedom to walk on and off it with few to no responsibilities with maintenance and upkeep. Also, in this type of plan, you can have a skipper included, too. The skipper is familiar with the sea, if you aren’t, so you can get a skipper if you needed to. With this type of asset, you don’t even need to worry about watercraft insurance.

You have the benefits of ownership without the maintenance and upkeep hassles. You have the benefits of owning it without all the hassle associated with privately owning one by yourself. This is a great asset that can be converted to cash, if you wish to sell your part in the asset.

You can have a cleaning service included in your plan that you buy. This would be a higher cost, but would pay back with not having the responsibility of cleaning once you were done with your use of the watercraft. This is a great option, if you just don’t want to clean up, yourself.

If you paid for the most inclusive of options, all you would really need to pay for is the fuel for the watercraft. This is a great deal. Then you wouldn’t even have a good deal of the other responsibilities, such as cleaning. You would just bring the watercraft back and they would clean it for you.

There is one downside to this type of ownership, rather than to actually own the boat exclusively. You have to plan when to use the boat share, rather than going out whenever you feel like it.

Getting Started With A Boat Share

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

Getting a boat share is somewhere in between buying one outright or using a one time charter. The charter is acceptable for those who might only need the vessel once, like for a vacation. On the other hand, buying it might be considered overkill for someone who has no plans to love on the boat, or use it every single day.

Sharing ownership, on the other hand, offers a whole lot of flexibility in terms of use and time spent on the water, without being saddled with the costs and responsibility of ownership. There’s no need to worry about buying the vessel, nor about insurance, marina fees, etc. Most importantly, the hassles and cost of the vessel’s maintenance are out of the picture.

The fractional yacht ownership or boat share company will take care of all these and other issues. All that needs to be done is buy shares and become a part owner of the vessel. Alternatively, it might be a timeshare-type arrangement with yearly membership fees plus charges billed per trip based on usage, which will be very low as compared to the costs of chartering the same type of vessel.

A little bit of comparison shopping should help in scoring the best deal, since there are many variables to be considered. For example, one of the most important things is the amount of time each co-owner gets on the vessel and how and when to book these trips out on the water. Sometimes, the company may have a waiting period in between trips.

The scheduling system to avoid clashes between owners is also important. For example, everyone wants to get a chance to spend time on the vessel during holidays and for extended periods during the summer vacation. It’s also important to find out how well the company maintains the vessels, who is expected to pay for it and how much.

Depending on how big it is and what type of vessel it is, there may also be considerations about crew members and other add-on costs. The sum of it is that there’s big savings to be had with a boat share. Co-owners can set sail at will and enjoy the freedom of owning a boat without having to pay for it. But it needs to be done after careful consideration of the terms being offered.

Drawing Cars: How To Start

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Do you like drawing or painting? If so, have you ever consideration around drawing or painting cars? You may even become able to create some money out of it. Young drivers love their first car but older drivers love their flashy cars. You could sketch their cars yet sell the sketches to them or offer to create a painting from your sketch.

The good thing about drawing cars is that while they are still, they are perfectly still and they do not modify their outline or colour like humans modify their expressions, stances yet clothes. In fact, it would get pretty simple to compile a collection of sketches of quite exotic cars as well – cars that most crowd could never even hope to own.

So, how would you go about doing that? Well, the first thing to do is make a decision which type of cars or vehicles you would like to draw. That usually equates to the form of cars that you find beautiful. You might like vintage, classic, sports or racing cars. Or drag or Formula One or luxury cars or any other type.

Granted some of these kinds of cars are not simple to see unless you live in a big city, yet you might find a manner around that. You may get able to produce some fantastic drawings from decent photos, videos, manufacturers’ advertisements or Internet promotions.

The thing that you have to do, by whichever means you have accessible to you, is familiarize yourself with your subject. Just as early painters used to become involved with autopsies in order to understand the underlying bone and muscle structure, so should the aspirant drawer of cars study the basic structure of cars.

All cars are basically the same, just as all humans are in essence the same, yet every body is different and every make of car is different as well. Begin with the general and work your way towards the precise. In other words, familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of cars and then the particulars of the model that you want to draw.

If you are already an experienced sketcher, I do not want to tell you how to suck eggs, yet if you are just starting out, I would like to give you some pointers.

Create your initial sketches pretty easy. Begin by drawing fundamental shapes: most cars are oblong with squarish side windows but oval front and rear windows. Whilst you have a basic shape, you can begin attempting to add some specifics.

Do not be worried about going over your initial lines in order to draw the shapes more realistic. When you start, your car may look as if it is emerging from a fog, but the next time you draw a car, the lines will be better and more truthful from the start.

The main thing is not to become worried about making mistakes yet just listen to critics who have tried drawing themselves.

Boat Trailer Winch Post: Basic Guide On Boat Anchor Winch

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Almost all electric winches are being utilized for lifting or tugging big loads. It can be mounted to a firm foundation that is strong enough to carry the winch and the load. They’re popular accessory to a truck and different off-road vehicles. It is used mostly for pulling other motor vehicles trapped in dirt or sand. There is also electric winch made for marine application just like the boat trailer winch.

Like the majority of winches it’s used primarily to pull and load the sail boat on to the trailer. Some people do it by hand by using a manually operated winch, but if you want, it is also possible to take advantage of an electric winch that utilizes the trucks electric battery to power it. Depending on the length of the boat they are available in various sizes. The rule of thumb in choosing the perfect winch is to get one with two times the weight of the load you wanted to pull. This will ensure a consistent pulling and also prolongs the service of the winch.

Since you are going to utilize them next to the water or salt water, many marine trailer winches are designed of aluminum or stainless steel parts to resist corrosion and rust. Most producers utilize a steel body with powdered coated paint to reduce price but other small parts are still made of aluminum or stainless steel. Modern made boat winches are now integrated with built-in lights and remote control so you can still work at night safely and easily. Other feature includes a manual drive system so you can still use it in case it pauses while in the middle of the loading operation or if there is a problem with the electric circuit.

Setting it up is pretty easy; if you can keep your vehicle and fishing boat I’m certain you can also handle the installation. If you order a brand new unit it usually includes the mounting bolts and brackets. Some models even include a template with markings of the holes you need to drill. Once you installed it you still have to connect it to the cars battery pack.

The package also includes the wiring harness with terminal and screws; all you need to do is implement the wiring diagram also furnished. There are also many other kinds of winch use for marine applications like winch for retrieving the anchor and rope with attached load. These winches are smaller than the trailer winch but the principle and application is also the same, to retrieve a load.

When finding the perfect winch you need to get one with a reliable brand name, don’t forget that you are retrieving a large load and one small mistake can spell disaster. Additionally you are loading your favorite boat; you don’t want to dent or damage it just because a cheap winch cable snaps. Decide the appropriate capacity for your boat and don’t use it if you are not sure it can handle it, in other words do not overload it. Other manufacturers provides basic safety options like free spooling clutch, automatic brake and special gear system that minimize the risk of slippage. They may be a bit expensive but they are worth buying in the long run.

Frequent Automobile Issues And Explanations

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Most of us start to panic when we realize that there is something wrong with our cars. The problem is that as most of us are pretty ignorant about what is going on under our hoods, we tend to panic and mostly, unnecessarily. The next 5 problems are ones that all drivers should be aware of.

Engine noise can be disturbing when it occurs suddenly, the good news is that most of the time it is just something minor. Things off roads frequently get jammed in the tire treads which can make a horrible noise that sounds as if it is coming from the engine. See if it lasts more than a couple of days and if it does take it to a garage.

One of the most common and easily fixable problems is that of squeaky brakes. This is generally caused by vibration between two of the components; the pads and the callipers, the callipers and the mounts or even the pads and the rotors.

There are other causes of that annoying squeak; possibly the shoes and backing plate, or shoes and drums. Once again, if it’s there for a while get it checked out at a garage.

The drums and shoes or the shoes and the backing plates can also make an unpleasant squealing sound. If it is persistent; its time for a mechanic to take a look.

Your cars alignment being out is the most common cause for our cars to pull to the side. A garage will do a simple realignment for you, but take care if it is pulling to only one side.

The easiest way to tell if your shock absorbers or struts need looking at is if your normally smooth car becomes a very bumpy ride.

Take your car to a mechanic as soon as this problem becomes apparent. If you take it quickly is should be fixed fairly easily, if not you could be facing a hefty bill for new struts and shocks.

Why You Should Consider (Or Not) Garage Floor Tile

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Tiles are some people’s go-to options when it comes to garage flooring and, to some, they are viewed as the best, most comprehensive choice. The protection provided to the concrete garage floor is about the same as paint, but tiles can be a lot easier to install for some. Following will be some of the many advantages, as well as some disadvantages, of garage floor tile.

The Cost Of Garage Floor Tile

When it comes to home improvement, most garage flooring solutions are fairly cheap, so pricing may not be a huge factor. The fact is, garage floor tiles are one of the most expensive garage floor coverings available. Kits that cover a single car garage run anywhere from just under $200 to around $500, depending on a variety of factors including features and name brands. The only type of garage flooring solution that would compare would be a garage floor mat, and it would probably be a good idea to compare tiles and mats before purchasing either.

When To Choose Garage Floor Tile

There are two different types of tiles. There are the interlocking type, which are basically square shaped compartment mats that are meant to be connected, and there are the peel and stick type that actually bond to the concrete garage floor. The interlocking type can be used in just about any garage, but probably won’t last as long as the peel and stick type. The peel and stick type, however, can only be used in garages where the original floor is in good shape and not too heavily stained.

Installing Garage Floor Tile

Excepting mats, depending on which one you use, garage floor tiles are probably the easiest solution to install. Peel and stick tiles are just what they sound like, and interlocking ones snap together. Nothing is difficult about either install. though when using the peel and stick ones, you have to be absolutely sure that the floor is spotless as you wouldn’t want the sticky backing attaching itself to dust and dirt. Since the interlocking garage floor tiles just click together, the install is similar to a mat, and you generally just have to lay it out on the floor without worrying too terribly much about how clean it is. Of course, their inherent design as well as any dust or dirt can cause them to move and crunch when you don’t want them to.

Garage Floor Tile Maintenance

For most garage floor tiles, maintenance is similar to what you would do on a linoleum floor. Since they are designed to be sprayed off, and generally do not absorb chemicals, cleaner is not often necessary, and generally a wet mop is all that is needed. Abrasive garage flooring cleaners obviously should not be used since those are usually made for concrete. Instead, if soap is needed, your average floor cleaner will usually do the trick. Be sure to read the directions of your particular product, though, as some types of cleaners may affect the finish on your garage floor tile.

Tow Bars Improving Leisure Options

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

For making the most of any holiday and adding greater flexibility to your life in general, make use of the art of towing. If visiting relatives for a long vacation, you and your family can feel free to bring along all of your personal items. Children can enjoy their toys and bikes, while the option to take fishing equipment or extra suitcases makes it ideal for everyone.

Likewise, the family vacations in the outdoors become even better when towing along a small car with your mobile home. Quick day trips to the city or out to a nice restaurant can break up the monotony of a national park vacation. To tow a car, trailer or truck you will need to hook it up to your towing vehicle. This process will involve the use of a trailer, a tow dolly or a tow bar. Tow bars are the easiest, safest and least expensive option on the market.

While on the road, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the practice of towing cars on trailers. Car dealerships use these multiple car trailers to transport vehicles towed by a truck. An industrial workload such as this is unreasonable for private use, while trailers and dollies are also more expensive than tow bars.

Storing the tow bar will never be an issue, as each end of the connection remains attached to your vehicles. There will be no extra space required, unlike using trailers.

Looking over the different types of tow bars, one option is the self-aligning bar, the most popular style due to its easy handling. There is also the A-frame option, a tow bar that needs two people for application.

Remember about all the extra weight you will be handling when towing. Make an accurate count of the pounds you will be hauling. The Class of tow bar you need will correspond to this weight. Lighter compact cars are naturally a great choice for towing.

Once the basic equipment is installed on your towing vehicle as well as your trailer or car, you will want to try connecting the two before the date of your trip. Though not difficult to master, using the tow bar just takes a little practice.

While pulling a car or trailer connected with your tow bar, remember to leave extra space between yourself and the cars in front of you. You are piloting heavier cargo. Making turns and winding around curves will require slight adjustments to your driving style. Work out the kinks beforehand. Never back up when your towing vehicle is connected. Backing up could lead to damage for your tow bar as well as the attached car or trailer.

Tow bars can be useful if a friend or loved one has car trouble and no way to get back home. Since you are towing on four wheels with a tow bar, it’s very important to keep the connection parallel. With this system almost any vehicle can be towed using a tow bar.

Byron Jonas thinks its great that for towbars and tow bar accessories, All Vehicle Accessories are your one stop shop.
