Baby Frame And Other Mementos

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Kids of this generation are no longer the timid or “my mom/dad told me so” types. They are very inquisitive and they will always ask for a handful of questions everyday. Some parents may find this very interesting, especially the first-time moms and dads. Babies grow up so fast that if you were to keep their baby expressions and activities fresh in your mind, you would have to make sure that you keep something that will keep you refreshed everyday. Although collages and scrap books are very nice, they take a lot of time to assemble and that would not be ideal for moms who are busy with work or busy taking care of their babies. One of the simpler and easier ways to make sure your memories of your baby’s first few days and weeks is to get his or her picture displayed on your bed side table. You would have to get the baby frame that best suits the theme of the picture.

There are many photographers these days that cater to all of the different glamour shots of children and babies. So you may tap them into taking perfect shots of your baby and choose the best pictures for display. Are you thinking of dressing your baby into a fairy, an angel or simply the adorable and charming little creature that he or she is? Photographers know what is best for baby shots and they are likely to bring out the best shots. Often, they would be the ones to provide the baby frame as well but you could always ask for alternatives.

However, there are various other things which will keep your baby’s small memorable items into full light as well. Do you see your baby asking you things like: “Mommy, when was I born? Exactly where was I born? What did I wear on my first birthday celebration? Who were there to visit us inside the hospital? Were my feet so small when I was born?” You know, these things are usually going to surface when your little one gets older. You would merely wish to take out a container and show him or her different things that you stored right? Well then, make sure that you would possess a treasure box that contains the following:

* Ultrasound images as well as pictures taken before and a few days after the baby was born, preferably ones that were taken in the hospital

* Linen used by the baby (some parents would even have embroidered initials of the baby on them)

* Other infant articles such as clothes, mittens and booties, bibs and caps

* Baby cards, medical center records and other data that you could ask from the doctor as well as the hospital tags

* Live birth certificate of the infant where the feet and fingers are imprinted in order that she or he could see how little his feet and fingers were

* Tokens during the baptism

* And all other things that you and your baby first experienced together such as travels abroad or recorded videos or audios of first words, steps etc.

Make sure that you in no way misplaced not even one infant picture and keep it using the very first baby frame where you put it in. The pictures are always the most concrete proof of exactly how lovable your child is in your eyes.

A lovely baby frame will surely match your memorable photo that you wouldn’t want to neglect. You can display it in your dining or living rooms so that people can share with you the experience. Or you may want to try collage photo frame.

What To Do With A Picture Frame That’s Been Slightly Damaged

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

For those looking for more unusual or ornate picture frames, than that offered by most frame shops, can find some quite interesting samples at auction or in antique centres. Fine gilt frames, that are expensive custom made, can normally be found at a good price, especially if the picture it holds is either in poor condition or has no artistic merit.

Slightly damaged frames can also be cheap to buy and once repaired can provide a high class surround to your paintings.

Re-gluing

Wood has a habit of expanding and contracting due to changes in temperature and will also shrink as it slowly dries out, forcing glued joints to split apart. Nonetheless, if the securing pins are straight, these can be re-glued. Firstly, remove any dust or dirt that has collected in the joint plus any of the original glue. The new glue can then be applied to the joint and the corners held in place with a clamp. To secure the joint, either use a frame clamp, or you can improvise with wooden blocks and string; put two blocks at the centre of each side of the frame, tie the string firmly around the block, then move them towards the corners to tighten the string.

Re-enforcing corners

Some corners might be visually OK but may need added support to avoid stress. To do this, metal corner plates or pieces of plywood can be screwed to the back of the frame. Be sure the frame is big enough for the screws, otherwise the wood may split or you may find them projecting out at the front.

Moulded frames

Small chips in moulded frames can be repaired with plastic wood or cellulose filler. For larger areas of damage, take an impression (using model-casting rubber or dental compound) of a similar undamaged part of the frame. Use this to make a mould by pinning the casting material to a flat piece of wood strip, this then can be filled with fibre-glass paste to create a new piece. The finished piece can then be sanded then painted or gilded to match the original.

When framing your picture, always make sure the frame is deep enough to enclose the painting properly, a problem made more obvious with canvas on stretchers. In addition, the chord should be attached to the frame and not the painting stretcher or back panel and fixed just above the centre, this will help the painting hang with a slight tilt which, in turn, allows air to circulate and keeping dust off the picture.

Paintings that need to be behind glass should be separated from the glass by using a mount or slip (beading). The glass and the backing board can then be sealed to the frame using framers tape to prevent insects from getting in. Use brass or steal fittings as iron or steel will corrode.

Wall Picture Frames

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Picture frames have been around for hundreds of years. There are desk picture frames, standee picture frames, but the most common and oldest sort would certainly be the wall picture frames. Ever since the Renaissance period, people have been using frames for their oil paint paintings. The real difference now, though, is that although a few are still using the frames for paintings, with technology’s assistance, everybody’s using these frames for the pictures.

Almost all households have wall picture frames; a simple thing that will remind them of some of the most important moments in their lives. A birth, baptism, birthday, graduation, vacation, promotion, wedding; all these are recorded and can be seen and remembered by each member of the household just by looking at the framed photos. Memories are being preserved.

Back in the days of old, frames were built of wood, silver, bronze or gold. This in fact will depend on the social status of the one that wanted the oil paint artwork. The designs of the frames vary also. There are those that are as simple as an ordinary rectangle then again there are the ones that can certainly be grand or grander compared to artwork itself. A few frames would likely have embellishments, elaborate carvings or engravings.

Nowadays, picture frames still vary in sizes, prices, material and design. The differences are that most of these frames are mass-produced. Custom-made frames are still available but can be very costly, depending on the size and material as well. Another thing that makes modern frames differ from the old-fashioned ones, the former has different designs that can fit or are made especially for a certain occasion. There are wedding frames, birthday frames, or graduation frames. The options are endless.

Using the various available styles and components, pictures frames are usually no longer utilized as strictly to frame the photographs. Wall picture frames are specifically really versatile with regards to interior decorations. You will be surprised with the things it is possible to use with an old picture frame; the only limit is your imagination. Below would be some different alternative functions of an old frame.

It is possible to use the frame to highlight an ordinary mirror. Try to be creative. When you do not like the present mirror frame, you may possibly change the one you have with a traditional photo frame. All that you need is to repaint it, if it’s needed. Make certain, though, that the size as well as the form matches your mirror properly so you do not have any changes.

One other idea is by making use of the frame and its cardboard backing as a board to hold your mementos. Cover the cardboard backing using a attractive wrapper or cloth, whether it be printed or ordinary. As soon as covered, it is possible to start using these to stick or pin mementos such as boarding passes, concert tickets, tags, gift cards and playbills. This is really a great alternative to reminisce days gone by.

One idea, that is currently in interior design fashion, is using wall picture frames on its very own as a dcor by itself. You are able to line up various frames of various colors and sizes into a single art form. What you can also do is to get a truly gorgeous frame; an antique frame would be ideal and just hang it on its own. A wonderfully crafted frame is an artwork on its own. Actually, you will find a lot of frames which are much more costly and more valuable than the painting or picture they hold.

A lovely wall picture frames will surely match your memorable photo that you wouldn’t want to neglect. You can display it in your dining or living rooms so that people can share with you the experience. Or you may want to try collage frames.

Wedding Picture Frame To Hold Your Precious Moments

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Are you space crazy or just plain artistic? Some people are afraid to take risks when it comes to their spaces. Why would you let your space be sacrificed just because one picture has to be displayed? Admit it though, you would want to give more dignity to your pictures thus, you would want to keep them in a place where it is displayed and where more people could see them. For your wedding picture for example, should you get a wedding picture frame or a wedding photo album to store and display them? Which one is best and which one is not?

In getting a photo album, you are likely to enjoy these cons:

1. Space! Most, the usual 50-paged photo album will be able to keep two hundred photos. That is close to all of the printed pictures that you have printed after the wedding. You can choose to keep them in one place and store them without being “clutter-y”. You can just keep them under your coffee table or a shelf and take out when you feel the urge to browse through the photos.

2. Handiness. Think about buying a $20 frame and keep all of the pictures that you wish to store in there. That will save you so much money!

3. Easy to browse through. Just keep your pictures and let them do the talking since you can arrange them in chronological order. Although a person was not really in the event itself, he or she would be able to identify still that this happened after this and that, as if reading a chapter in a book.

However, it is not all about good things though because getting a wedding picture frame could be a better idea because of these reasons:

1. Additional clutter. There will be a time when you would just believe that the photo albums are adding into the clutter that you have around the house, believe it or not. One is not able to use them all of the time and instead of enabling you to put something else in that area, you are not able to do so because of the bulky frames.

2. Are you that creative? A sad reality about this is that once you are really not that good at arranging photos, then your pictures would not appear as creative as the way you imagined them to be.

3. Eats up time. When you have to arrange a hundred or more of the photos, which means that you have to set time for it or else it will just count as one of the unfinished projects that you have.

4. The pictures will fall off after a period of time. It does not matter what type of adhesive you use because there will really come a time when the pictures would simply fall from their places and you will not have a chance at putting them back to where they used to be anymore.

Getting the wedding picture frame on the other hand might save you on the time and effort. You just have to pick the best picture, put it in the frame and see the picture everyday of the year. You do not have to set a particular time aside in order to browse through the photos and relive the wedding feel again.

Nonetheless, these are also space consuming. You could only keep just a minimal number around the house or else you will have a house that is set up almost like a gallery where everything is displayed. And of course, the more the frames that are needed the more money that you have to shell out to accommodate all of the photos.

A lovely wedding picture frame will surely match your memorable photo that you wouldn’t want to neglect. You can display it in your dining or living rooms so that people can share with you the experience. Or you may want to try baby picture frames.

Wedding Picture Frame: Types And Needs

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Brides and grooms most of the time are very choosy regarding the people who would be in charge of their wedding. It is very important that those who would be in charge of the wedding as well as tasked for the video must be good. The in-charge person must know how to make every moment of the wedding full of life that even if we watch the video after a couple of years, still they could feel the live essence of the wedding. Part of it also is the photographer who is in charge of taking pictures. After the wedding, usually, brides and grooms do not really focus on the wedding picture frame where they could keep their pictures. Though the angle is perfect, but still it might not look good considering the third person’s point of view.

The thing that could speak more about your wedding is you pictures. Though you would only choose anything from them, still you could not feel the satisfaction even from many photo studios to be in charge of your wedding. What’s on your mind could be the amount you have to pay. Definitely, you could have the best choice as soon as you get to know the kind of frame that would match your wedding photos.

The basics are the ones that you most often see in most stores. The simple frame could be matted and made of wood, metal, glass, crystal or plastic. The designs come in checkered, flowers or just the simple grooved wood. The nice thing about this type of frame is the immortal value and sense of style. No matter how simple it looks, you could browse through the same website or shop at the same mall and you would see ones that are exactly like the ones you bought years back. You could pick one wedding picture frame in this style to serve as the ultimate display in your family area or you could hang it on the wall.

The modern frames are the ones with the more sense of adventure into them. You could see these as ones with figures or the ones which are not the usual square shape. For example, you could get one that is in square shape but has a wine glass accent into it or one that is shaped like two wedding rings that are entwined. Somehow, the new touch will give more life to your photos thus anyone would notice them even from afar.

The old style of photo albums are commonly used because they could be stored as many photos as you want. Usually, photo albums have a kind of frame in the cover also, thus, it is possible for you to keep the best and the sweetest wedding picture in there as your main photo.

But if you really like a frame that could also store more photos than usual, you could get a collage frame. You could store as many pictures as the frame may allow it and it would look more creative as well. The drawback is that you might get too excited and mix the black and whites and colored photos together. The result? Well, most people call it clutter. Seriously, it takes a tremendous amount of control over the urge to put too many pictures together. But if you love to chronicle the event, the collage would be the best wedding picture frame that you may get.

A lovely wedding picture frame will surely match your memorable photo that you wouldn’t want to neglect. You can display it in your dining or living rooms so that people can share with you the experience. Or you may want to try unique photo frames.

How To Choose The Right Frames For Your Photos Or Artworks

Monday, July 5th, 2010

One of the first things that you should be taught in art is that the frame or any lines will make the eye naturally focus on the artwork or picture. This is probably the aesthetic reason why we frame our artwork.

Another reason why we tend to frame artwork is of course to protect it from any or most accidental damage. Anything that could cause the picture to tear, crease or fold could potentially damage the picture beyond repair.

The framework of any art is supposed to be aesthetically pleasing and made to enhance the picture that it is framing. That does not mean that it has to be made of such quality that it actually takes the focus away from the picture completely.

A frame should just compliment the picture or artwork. You should always try to ascertain the correct thickness of the frame so as not to make it look silly. A frame that is far too thick could detract from the picture and look out of place. There is also the question of what material to use for the framework too. You can choose from traditional wood frames to plastic frames or even silver frames.

Plastic frames are more often used for housing commercial type posters, while the Metallic frames usually look good on minimalist pictures and are often denote classy stylish pieces of artwork.

The skill of choosing the right frame is to be aware of the surrounding. If you were hanging a piece of artwork in a room that is minimalist and modern then you would more than likely choose a frame to suit which would probably be a metallic type of frame with a thin sleek appearance.

For instance if you are putting pictures into an old Victorian style house then you would probably use frames that are made from traditional wood and were quite thick in appearance. This would suit the antique surroundings in which they were to be hung. A country cottage style house on the other hand would probably benefit from a more experimental style frames with probably twigs or leaves adorning the frame.

Frames can come in all shapes and sizes and can be readily found at many stores both online and offline. You could even buy customized frames for irregular shaped pictures or pieces of art.

Wedding Picture Frame: Cherishing Moments

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

No memory will probably ever measure up to the day you and the one you love both said, “I do”. Wedding days are filled with laughter, romance and just simply magical moments that deserved to be reminisced precisely the way it happened.

What better way to preserve your precious wedding memories than capturing it in a photograph? These pictures might as well be the most important photos you will ever have to capture. In this technology-laden era, it would be easier to just store your cherished photos in a flash drive or your laptop for safekeeping, out of sight and out of mind.

But why let your photos go unnoticed when you can flaunt them for everyone to ogle and rave about? And what better way to show off the best memories of your life with elegant and classy picture frames. Whether you place it in your office desk or your living room, it will surely brighten up any space.

You could reflect you and your other half’s personalities in your picture frame and maybe even a re-enactment of your wedding day itself. You might be worried that you would not be able to choose the perfect frame to highlight your most precious wedding photos. There are many wedding picture frames that you may choose from; here are some of them:

* I Do Engagement or Wedding Picture Frame – Simple and not much embellishment; it will emphasize the photo it carries. It reads the most important phrase in a wedding ceremony, of course, along with the picture of you and your significant other.

* Champagne Glasses Picture Frame – It is a simple silver frame with two chrome champagne glasses. Reminisce of the first toast you had as a couple. Not only is it perfect for wedding photos, it can also be used for other occasions that involve champagne.

* Heartsong picture frame – a simple and borderless frame, a platform-like base and silver hearts sprouting from the sides. It is one of the most chic frames here. It gives off a modern yet romantic feel.

* Five opening Wedding Collage Picture Frame – It holds five pictures in one frame. It is perfect if you want to show off more than one picture of your wedding. You will not have to worry about the space it will take up. Also a perfect gift for newlyweds and also for in-laws

Of course, displaying your wedding picture frame for all to see will expose it to all kinds of damage and dirt. And you would not want your prized photos be buried in the dust, do you? Use the proper cleaning cloths and never paper based towels and be careful in choosing the right spray cleaner for the type of frame you have. Wedding photos within reach would be a crowd-puller, a magnet for fingerprints and dust. That is why it is also best to keep your wedding picture frame at a high shelf or mounted in a wall, where it will also be safe from small children.

A lovely wedding picture frame will surely match your memorable photo that you wouldn’t want to neglect. You can display it in your dining or living rooms so that people can share with you the experience. Or you may want to try newborn gift.

How To Pick A Wooden Picture Frame

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

There are a lot of moments we capture in photographs. Many of these are once in a lifetime events that you couldn’t possibly relive unless you wanted to. Obviously you would want to take these great moments with you and your loved ones and display them forever. The best way to do this is in a picture frame.

Picture frames can be made out of just about anything. You can find them made out of wood, metal, plastics, ceramic, or even materials like sea shells. It is all really just a matter of preference according to what you pick, but I find wooden picture frames to be timeless.

There are a lot of different things you need to take into consideration when trying to pick out the perfect frame for your photographs. To get an idea, you need to consider the artwork itself. What is its theme? What will enhance the image?

One of the main things that you need to think about when trying to enhance a photograph is just taking in the photos concept. The furnishings of the room you will be putting it in as well as the colors in the image play a big role. Without upstaging your artwork, the frame just needs to stand out.

A lot of people like to give picture frames away as gifts. This is something that happens pretty often so how can you make it really special? You need to personalize it. There are a lot of ways this can be done. For example a store could engrave it for you.

You could also consider carefully selecting what image you put in the frame. It needs to be a great photograph that both you and the recipient of the gift can relate to. If you are giving the frame to your partner it should be something like an image of both of you together. To give an even more personal touch, make sure you have wrap it.

You could also consider putting fine art photography or even paintings in your wooden picture frames. There are a lot of pre-assembled great looking picture frames on the market that would look great on an image like this. You can tell really quickly how high of quality a frame is just by seeing how secure the corners are.

Once you have your image in your chosen frame you can really experience its essence. I always feel like I am seeing my image for the first time right after I have it hung up in a wonderful frame in the right spot on the wall.

Treasuring Keepsakes: Modern Unique Photo Frames

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Pictures, diplomas, certificates and other printed artworks remind us of our achievements, hard labor or simply the happy moments in life. They deserve to be displayed on walls or on table tops always ringing a bell whenever we see them. Placing them on unique photo frames would extend their life span thus allowing them to last a little longer.

However, we have not really seen unique photo frames until just recently. The design of such frames have always been plain square or rectangular. And although there are variations in color, size and embossed patterns, they are not pretty much that of an innovation. The designs are stuck to the concept of apparently protecting whatever is cased in. And so the creations were either gold plated or crystal imbedded with a clear glass covering which we either hang at the wall or put in a stand. Photo frames were not too appealing that they were made as part of the list of common and cheap gift items.

The designs are stuck to the concept of apparently protecting whatever is cased in. And so the creations were either gold plated or crystal imbedded with a clear glass covering which we either hang or put in a stand. Such output claims to be unique photo frames catering to complexity and elegancies. In reality, there has always been one standard for a photo frame. And what designers claim to be improvements are considered minor adjustments to the look but not the feel or the experience.

Today unique photo frames are modernized. The illuminated or light up picture frame is one good example of how exceptional frames should be. A variation of light is used in the frame to add a mystic effect to the image. Originally, the purpose of these strokes of plain or colorful light patterns was simply to light up a display in the dark, which is very common in museums. But its use expanded to giving brighter details to the cased object.

Fortunately, the production of unique photo frames has truly materialized. The light up picture frame is one clear example of an advancement caused by technology nowadays. This feature is very common with museum displays but is also available for small pictures and mementos in the average house. The use of different kinds of light to light up the object in display in the dark is a wise contribution of some big players in the business.

Not only that, but unique photo frames nowadays are also used to case jerseys and autographed mementos. Some frames are even used for toys and card and other stuff that may fit. Wedding mementos, awards, puzzles, actors’ autographs, insects as well as miniature items are framed as well. Such objects require special designs that range from secure locks, elaborate moldings and other specific features necessary according to the elements of the framed object.

Picture frames are a popular gift to individuals. They can be given for any occasion. But they do not have to be expensive. Homemade are considered the most unique photo frames. They are all sincere, simple and truly one of a kind. Though technology has changed the world of frames, the classic should never be disregarded. Just add a little touch of creativity to make it one unique photo frame and enjoy reminiscing through them.

A lovely unique photo frames will surely match your memorable photo that you wouldn’t want to neglect. You can display it in your dining or living rooms so that people can share with you the experience. Or you may want to try wedding frames.
