Making A Decision Between An In Ground And Above Ground Swimming Pool

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Having a private pool in your home seems to be the in thing right now. It lets you enjoy your private swimming and you also add value to your home. What one must decide however when buying a pool is whether to go for an in ground pool or an above ground pool. Here are some pros and cons to help you decide which of the two to choose.

If you have a small budget, then the average above ground pool will cost you $5,000. This is 5 times cheaper than the in ground pool.

The above ground pool has the given advantage of not requiring too much space for installation. Even if you own just a small terrace, you can still enjoy owning a pool.

The different shapes and sizes that an above ground pool can come in are more than those of the counterpart. You can also have different accessories like walls or liners that will aid you add your own personal touch to your new pool.

Above ground pools require easy assembly and installation. You can even do it yourself if you do not want to hire a professional. The traditional pool will take much more time and a whole lot more effort.

Above ground pools have the advantage of being portable. This means that whenever you want to move to a new home all you have to do is disassemble it and carry it along with you. If you are doing some renovations to your home you can also just move it around until you are done with your renovations.

One big problem with above ground pools is that they are not durable. Extreme weather and chemicals will always have a negative toll on the swimming pool. The average time an above ground pool is projected to last is 5 years.

Choose between the in ground and the above ground pool wisely depending on your budget, the space you have for it and how long you want to have the pool.

Photo Frames: Buying The Correct Sort

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

How do you go about selecting the right frames for you photos? You will be surprised to know it is harder than you think. You have standard frames, clip A3 frames and the new digital frames. Which should you choose?

Well first you need to think about what your photo represents. Is it of something important like your child’s graduation or a photo from you holiday where you took a picture of your foot? The more special the occasion, the bigger the size of the frame should be.

An important factor is where are you going to put the picture. Would you like to put it next to your bed or do you want to place it in your lounge so that it can be seen by everyone? Obviously you need to be practical; if it is going next to your bed then you don’t want to look for A3 frames.

Are you sure that you want a classic type of frame? I have to admit that I prefer them but these days there is a trend towards using digital frames. With these frames you insert the memory card out of you camera and your photos will show on the screen.

I like making my digital frame do a slide show so that I can always see it in the front room. I sometimes find myself just watching the slideshow and not watching the TV!

One of the negatives about these frames is that you need to plug them in. This uses electricity so the costs can add up. You also can’t get really large ones so if you if you did want to get a large photo in your front room then you will need to look at A3 frames.

I don’t like the fact that less photos are getting shown than in the past. We tend to take the pictures and then just keep them on the camera or on our computer. Please don’t let this happen to your photos. Please try to show them all!

If you would like more help in selecting the correct picture frames then please go to Shawn’s wesbite. Shawn specializes in A3 frames and A3 clip frame in particular. He will be able to assist you with all your frame related queries.

Find The Right Picture Frame

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

If you need to find a frame for your photos or a painting then you need to answer a few questions first. You need to be very clear about what you want because there are a lot to choose from. Is it something small you are after or do you want something larger like size A2 or A3 frames?

To really answer these questions you need to establish the importance of the picture or the painting. If it is of great importance, like a graduation event, then you will want to go for something that is larger. If the event was not as important then a smaller frame should do. Obviously if it is for a painting then you will probably have no option but to go with the larger one.

You also need to think about where you are going to put the photo. Do you want to put it by the side of your bed or do you want to put it in the front room for everyone to see? Obviously you need to be practical; if it is going next to your bed then you don’t want to look for A3 frames.

If you are framing a photo then think about using the new digital frames. I like to use a mixture of the ‘old fashioned’ frames and the new digital ones. They are simple to use as you can just transfer the memory card from your camera.

The bit that I love about these digital frames is that you can present a slide show of you pictures. Sometimes I get distracted from the television and just watch my photos going around!

The problems with digital frames are that they do use electricity which can be costly, you can’t put paintings in them and you can’t have them large to fit A2 or A3 frames.

I am concerned that these days that photos aren’t being displayed as much as they used to be. We tend to take the pictures and then just keep them on the camera or on our computer. Don’t let that happen, display as many pictures and you can!

Home Improvement: Pool Table Dimensions

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Here in this article, I am going to give you some ideas and other details about pool table dimensions. There are different and available pool table dimensions.

I have included some of the common sizes that you will occupy when you are about to play. I also suggest some recommended room sizes. It is actually indicated to have a smaller room size but it is very important to note also that bigger is sometimes better.

Here are some of the table sizes surface suggested room sizes:

3.5′ x 7′ 39.5″ x 79″ 16′ 8″ x 13′ 6″

4′ x 8′ 44″ x 88″ 17′ 4″ x 13′ 11″

4.25′ x 8.5′ 46″ x 92″ 17′ 9″ x 14′ 1″

4.5′ x 9′ 50″ x 100″18′ 4″ x 14′ 6″

The regular pool table dimension that we usually see in the competitions is 4.5′ x 9′5″ ft. It is very ideal to have something like the 18′4″ x 14′6″ or something much bigger. Also, it needs to be considered the size of the cue stick. The regular size of a cue stick is 58 inches. The size of the room is computed and is based upon the length of the table plus twice the length of cue stick and the width of the pool table plus twice the length of cue stick.

A lot of people are suggesting to put the pool room on a lower area of the house is not a good idea. One thing that must be understood about it is that there should not be any stuff in the way since the level has beams.

It is noted that the beams should be at the end and not on the sides of the table. There should have more room at the end because this is where the people would break. You can now plan the room even if the table is not there yet because you now have ideas about the pool table size dimensions.

You can also get some short cues in case the player needs to take shots in front of the beam. You need to make sure that the pool table has the best possible distance which is far away from the beam. This will make you enjoy and improve the game plan that you have.

Useful Ideas On How To Use Frames

Monday, July 5th, 2010

One of the first things that you should be taught in art is that the frame or any lines will make the eye naturally focus on the artwork or picture. This is probably the aesthetic reason why we frame our artwork.

A more plausible reason why we use frames though is to protect the picture or artwork from any possible damage that could harm it.

The framework of any art is supposed to be aesthetically pleasing and made to enhance the picture that it is framing. That does not mean that it has to be made of such quality that it actually takes the focus away from the picture completely.

This is why it is important to not only get the thickness of the frame correct but also the make of material used for the framework. There are many options available today for materials used in frameworks. As well as the traditional frames made from wood you can also buy metallic frames and plastic frames.

The plastic frames are often the cheapest and would normally house such items as commercial type posters. Metallic frames are more sleek and contemporary.

The skill of choosing the right frame is to be aware of the surrounding. If you were hanging a piece of artwork in a room that is minimalist and modern then you would more than likely choose a frame to suit which would probably be a metallic type of frame with a thin sleek appearance.

With the same principles in mind if you had an old Victorian style house then to compliment the antique furniture and surroundings you would probably opt for a frame that was made from traditional wood. This would probably be of a thick stylish appearance. A country cottage may have designer frames with twigs or leaves adorning it.

If you have any standard size photographs or pictures that you need framing then you could just choose something that you can readily purchase from a local store or from most places online. If you photos can in an irregular size then you may want to buy customized frames to house them in.

Inflatable Pool – What To Know Before Investing In One

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

The first thing that almost everyone thinks of then they hear the words inflatable pool, are those little kiddie pools we had as children. They were small, shallow, and took forever for our parents to blow up. The older styles never lasted long, most of them not even lasting through a whole summer. On top of that, the fact that there always seemed to be things growing in them made them not at all appealing.

The inflatable pool of today is better constructed, more durable and comes in a wide variety of sizes. Those old tiny ones that are so familiar are still around, but they have some new features. One of which is the inflatable ring around the top, which allows the top of the pool to float on the water, hence keeping it upright. Kidding styles are also still around, and come in a larger range of sizes as well, with depths ranging from 12 inches up to 21 inches.

Perhaps you want something more than a small pool for children, but the budget does not allow for a large rigid above ground pool. There’s an inflatable pool for that. They are easy to assemble with the purchase of an air pump and many larger styles often come with filter pumps to keep the water nice and clean. They are generally made with a strong, marine grade type of vinyl and are built to last longer than a single summer.

Many of the large pools use metal framing for extra support, regardless of the size. The most common sizes are large enough to fit the whole family and a little over five feet deep. This is enough to hold all of the other fun accessories that make using the pool a joy in the first place, such as various toys, noodles, and floats.

Like with any swimming pool, your inflatable pool will require regular maintenance and care to ensure it has a long life and lasts many summers. You will need to schedule pool care two to three days a week, depending on how much use it sees. These duties include testing the water from acidity, alkalinity, PH levels and water level. You can hire someone to do this for you, but with a little time and the ability to follow directions, you can do these duties yourself and save yourself some money. You should also check and change your filter, hoses, and ensure your pumps are in good running condition as well. It’s also a good idea to keep a patch kit on hand to repair any small holes. A small hole can quickly become a large hole and lead to catastrophic yard flooding.

Do some extensive research on the specific pool types that you think would work best for your family. With any swimming pool, remember to keep safety in mind as well. And check with your local city about rules regarding sizes and depths in your area.

Not many people can afford the installation of an in-ground pool pool, which is why blow up pools have become so popular over the years as a more convenient alternative.

Swimming Pool Chemicals – Kill Bacteria And Make The Water More Pleasant To Swim In

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

There are some chemicals for your swimming pool that are a must if you want to keep your swimming pool safe and sanitary for you and your family to use. Swimming pools are some of the most fun a person can have, but they are hard work to maintain and you must make sure you do it well.

Various bacteria needs be cleaned out of the pool before you use it, and the pH balance needs to be leveled. There are various chemicals you can use to do this. Most of them you can find some department stores, while others you will have to go to specialty pool supply retailers or websites.

Ensuring that the pH is balanced is the most important part of choosing swimming pool chemicals. To check your pH balance I need to do is pick up a test at any retailers that sell any other pool supplies. Checking your pH balance should be the first thing you do aside from add chlorine. The pH balance affects how hard or soft the water is, as well as how clear it is and whether or not it damages your eyes.

Chlorine’s job is to killy any pathogens or bacteria that are in the water. It is just as important as pH balancing and should be done whenever you plan on using the pool. It is also extremely important to have a quality filtration system that helps circulate the water.

Not only should you have swimming pool cehmicals and a water filtration system, but also a vacuum. The system you use as filtration helps fliter out anything that the chlorine has killed, as well as larger particles that the chlorine cannot break down.

Once ever two or three months, you should replace your water to be sure it’s safe. However, you will need to do it at least this much. This is why it’s important to keep trap of the maintenance you perform on your pool.

When you own the pool, chemicals for your pool are a necessity.

Swimming Pool Covers – The Only Winter Time Maintenance You Need

Friday, June 18th, 2010

When it is cold outside, pool owners have to use swimming pool covers in order to keep debris from falling in to the pool. These covers also keep leaves and other debris from falling into the water in the months that you cannot use the pool as well

There are different types of swimming pool covers for pools that are below the ground or on top of the ground. You know which type of pool this is, because it is fairly obvious. Pools are under the ground or built in, while ones are above the ground are set up. One that is an in ground pool is permanently installed, while those that are not to be taken down at any time.

If you have an above ground pool, there are two options for covering it. You can leave the pool up and put a cover on it or you can simply take it down, depending on what kind of pool it is.

Any in ground pools should have swimming pool covers for the winter. In ground pools tend to be larger than those that are above ground, and you have to keep up with their maintenance for years. It is as much easier to put a cover on them to forget about them for the winter.

Using a pool cover can keep you from having to clean up the bottom of the pool before using it again. This is especially true if you keep water in the pool during the winter months, which can get extremely dirty especially if uncovered.

At nearly any pool supply retailer, you can find a swimming pool cover that will fit your pool. They are a popular and much used product, meaning that the price will be reasonable; expect to only have to pay between $15 and $30 for your cover.

When you have a swimming pool, swimming swimming pool covers are a necessity to have.

The Uses Of Installing Cameras At Home

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

You might think that security cameras are only used by businesses, but there are actually many reasons why having a camera in the home is beneficial. Most people use cameras to add another layer of security to their households.

These cameras can allow a family to locate and evaluate a situation before becoming involved in it directly. A good example would be a camera placed at the front door of the home; this would allow the family to see who is at the door before even interacting with the person on the other side.

Cameras are also used to watch over a particular area of the household or to keep an eye on a certain person to ensure his or her safety.

A camera placed in view of a swimming pool can keep swimmers safe or catch someone who causes damage to the area when the family isn’t around.

Many people also use cameras to keep a record of the activity in the home or in a business in an attempt to keep unwanted activities from ever happening.

When people are aware that there’s a camera in a particular area, their behavior will change. This works even if the camera is a fake intended to simply deter individuals from committing acts that would get them in trouble were they recorded on tape.

Many different kinds of cameras are available, including both wireless cameras and wired cameras that connect to a computer. You will have to look at the different types and evaluate their features to determine which type is best for you.

Other factors that affect your choice of camera include the type of things that you are trying to protect as well as the location of the computer to which the video will be recorded.

There are tons of choices in cameras that can be used for security, so do your research before purchasing a camera to be sure that you’re getting the perfect camera for your situation.

In addition to security cameras, this author also frequently gives advice regarding headboards king size and adjustable bed frame.
