Property Signs – The Solution To Keep Strangers From Entering Your Land

Sunday, December 26th, 2010

One of the hardest problems of owning a vast amount of land that cannot be constantly watched is keeping people off of it. The same goes for living in a place that has very limited parking.

People often try to enter land that seems unoccupied to go camping or fishing. It can be hard to keep these types of people off of your land if you cannot keep a close eye on it. The best way to inform others that the land is in fact owned by someone is to have a property sign placed around your home. This will inform them that they are not welcome.

Many times, people simply do not know that the land they are on is owned by a private individual if there are no signs telling them so. The best way to prevent people from entering is to install a private property sign.

Quite often, they do not mean any harm and it is the deficit of signs that causes trespassing. Getting a private property sign is an inexpensive way to keep individuals from entering your space.

There are a multitude of signs available to inform people, including your neighbors that you do not wish for them to park in your driveway or in front of your home. When you are away, these signs continue to inform others of your desires.

A private property sign says volumes for you. With a sign in your yard, you do not have to continuously remind people that you do not want them taking up space in your yard. This protects your hard earned property and your reputation as the people will not see you as an irritable person because you won’t have to verbally remind them of your personal views.

Most people do not trespass voluntarily. They find themselves doing so because they were not properly informed of the private ownership of the land.

Protect yourself and others, buy a private property sign today.

Our Nikon D300s Review

Monday, December 13th, 2010

In this Nikon D300s review, we discuss, continuous frame rate, Active D Lighting and how it affects exposure, f-stops, DOF, apeture, shutter speed, how the camera will make you a better photgrapher, the user interface, and why you would choose this camera over any other Nikon DSLR.

Point 1 in our Nikon D300s review: For anybody who is into sports the D300s features a higher continuous frame rate compared to other models, including the ever so popular full frame D700. With it’s DX sensor it features a crop factor of 1.5, resulting in more value for your money when shooting with a telephoto lens. If you purchase the MB-D10 battery pack the camera will shoot at even higher speeds of 8fps when you use continuous shooting, plus it also allows for to a maximum of nearly 5,000 photos to be taken on a single charge (when you purchase the upgraded battery). With 51 auto-focus and 3-D tracking, you are almost guaranteed to have your subject in focus anytime you take a picture. In addition, the D300s comes with Active D Lighting which makes it so your pictures end up correctly exposed so you don’t end up with areas of under and over exposure which are generally common in sports and in shadowy landscape photography.

Point 2 in our Nikon D300s review – Freedom: If you understand shutter speed, aperture, f-stops, focus points, DOF, light metering, ISO and other technical jargon and really want to experiment with all of these then a D300s is the camera for you. with shooting modes including: single, cont. low speed, high speed, timer, quiet, and mirror up mode this camera gives you all the freedom you could ever ask for.

Point 3 in our Nikon D300s review – Learning: this camera forces you to understand true in’s and out’s of photography. With the very accurate light meter it’s not very hard to get the exposure right. No matter what your ISO and f stop is at.

Point 4 in our Nikon D300s review: User interface. With the dedicated live view and info button, menu times are down substantially. The D300s includes amazing features including custom menus, straightforward menus with the classic (?) button which should explain every camera function in easy to understand terms. On the fly changes include WB, ISO, Quality, shooting modes, a user adjusted fn button, AF/AE lock, light metering, and af adjustments. Therefore the only constraints are your imagination. Selecting your focal point is as simple as looking in the viewfinder, pushing the directional button, and watching the selector move around til you have precisely the right spot selected. With two selectors (one for shutter speed and one for f stop) it allows you to never need to take your eye out out of the viewfinder.

The bottom line in our Nikon D300s review (why you would choose this over any other Nikon DSLR): why you’d choose this over the D90: 51point AF w/ 3D tracking, more fps, control of image adjustments, very little more cash for a lot more freedom and creativity, contrast auto-focusing during movies, ability to utilize dual card slots (CF and SD), 14bit RAW, Active D Lighting.

Over the D700: full 12MP when utilizing DX lenses rather than 5MP, more fps, $600-$1,000 less expensive, movie mode, smaller pixels for much more refinement at low ISO, 100% viewfinder coverage.

Over the D3 and D3x: far more expensive, shooting speed, optimization of DX and FX lenses and movie mode, and built in flash, 100% viewfinder coverage which allows for better framing.

Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises you would love to visit in 2011

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

When we first set about compiling this list of the Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises we started with the idea of the typical story book desert island, but of course that’s a deserted island and not exactly what we wanted. Our perfect tropical island needs luxury and exclusivity, but also we need to be pampered, looked after and provided for. So which did we decide were our Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises for 2011?

Antigua – A beautiful Caribbean Island that is part of the Leeward Islands group. Stunning beaches in shades of pink through to white, coral reefs for snorkelling and diving. These are just a few of the things that make Antigua so special. No wonder it’s popular for honeymoons and as a wedding destination. Celebrity spotting is almost a sport here, well a laid back sport at least. Our choice location on Antigua is Nonsuch Bay with its secluded beach and 40 acres of landscaped tropical grounds.

Aruba – Where the Azure Sea and Sky seem to merge together this Southern Caribbean island has something for everyone but has a real tropical island feel. Swaying Palm trees and white beaches all add to the experience. You could stay in one of the Ocean Front Rooms of the Tamarijn right on the white sandy beach of Druif Beach and fall asleep to the lapping of the waves. Pure Heaven

Cayman Islands – Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are the three islands that make up this stunning trio. They are set in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Western Caribbean. Don’t miss out on the amazing Lionfish Roundup event at Pirates Point Resort on Little Cayman.

Fiji – The South Pacific Island of Fiji of course is everyone’s idea of a dream tropical island, situated to the North of New Zealand Fiji has a character all of it’s own. It is actually a collection of more than 300 individual islands all with those amazing crystal clear shallow waters lapping against white sandy beaches. The range of activities available are amazing. You could stay at a beach front 5 star resort or back pack through the jungle. Our recommendation is Castaway Island, a stunning 174 acre private island resort.

Maldives – A chain of more than a thousand small islands, in fact many are not even islands just tiny atolls that are little more than a short stroll in size. You truly can feel like an island castaway here. Each resort island has a choice of apartments or bungalows on stilts over the stunning seascape. One of our favorites is Full Moon Resort, a narrow atoll that literally takes 20 seconds to walk from one side to the other and maybe 2 minutes to walk the length.

Mauritius – A relatively large tropical island paradise, well compared with some of our other Top 10 choices anyway. Easy to get to and something for everyone when you get there. Like any great tropical island we have the required clear warm waters and white sands here on Mauritius. There are also a broad range of places to stay, we really like Le Saint Geran, a private peninsula jutting out into the ocean.

Perhentian Islands – Somewhere east of Malaysia you just might find the Perhentian Islands, a pair of islands lost in time. There are no roads here, if you want to go somewhere you either trek through the jungle or hop along the coastline in a boat. The Arwana Eco Resort would be one of out top choices here.

Seychelles – Just north of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean are the hundred or so islands that make up the Seychelles. Every last one stunningly beautiful. The second largest island is Preslin with it’s towering palm trees that are inhabited by rare species of birds and animals.

St Lucia – The Eastern Caribbean sea is where we find exotic, esoteric and ethereal St Lucia. A backdrop of wooded hills overlooking stunning beaches. In St Lucia there is an activity for everbody from horse riding to snorkelling, from diving in the clear waters to hiking through the forests. Jaw dropping Jalousie Plantation has got to be the place to stay here.

Tahiti – This stunning pacific island has been the star of many a hollywood movie and so it should be. Once more a huge range of activities in a stunning setting. The Intercontinental Tahiti resort has its own private beach and everything else a tropical paradise island stay requires.

Identifying The Components Of A Bungee Strap

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

There are several uses to the simple bungee strap. They’re used by people of various professions from householders to sportsmen.

More often than not, the bungee strap is mostly used as a fastener during transport. However, they have been used for several purposes and cannot be easily categorized. Not many understand how they work or what they’re used for.

The strength of the strap is determined by how thick the elastic strands of the core are. The core is an essential part of the strap. The other parts are the fittings on its ends and the covering.

The stretchiness of the strap is also determined by the elastic core. The elastic of the core is made of rubber and this rubber maybe either synthetic or natural. The material is mostly dependent on what purpose the strap is used for.

The strap’s covering is made of nylon or braided cotton. The covering does not help in elasticity like the core, but mostly serves to protect the elastic stands of the core.

The covering’s nylon or cotton must be woven in a way that it would allow it to stretch. These straps must be able to stretch at least twice their original length. While those made of only rubber stretch to about four times their original length.

The fitting part of the strap is essentially a hook or a carabineer that is mainly to help fasten the strap to objects. This helps and makes using the strap every easily as otherwise you would have to tie knots to fasten them. The hooks are usually covered with rubber to make them safer to be used.

These straps, as already mentioned have found their use for various applications. They are available in various lengths depending on what they need to be used for. It is important to remember that rubber loses its elasticity eventually and one must be careful while using straps that over two or three years old.
