Picture Frame For Collages

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

One of the best examples of something that can instantly make you feel better on the inside is looking at pictures of loved ones. It could be an image of your parents hanging on the wall, an image of your grandchildren, or even a incredible sunset you and your significant other witnessed together. It is very clear that photographs can instantly bring the past back into the present.

Collage picture frames are a great way to display any of these past events. There are two different types of collage picture frames. The first is a standard collage frame and the second is a matted collage picture frame. These types of collage picture frames display our photos in a versatile way. They also come in a huge array of sizes, shapes, colors, styles and can be made out of many different materials.

Standard collage frames have a much more decorative look. This is a type of frame that has many different framed openings for each picture therefor each image is separated by a piece of wood or metal so it looks like there are a many different frames stuck together. You can either put these frames out on a flat surface such as a counter or desk or hang them up on a wall depending on what kind of frame you choose.

Matted collage frames are a little different. These are usually a single large picture frame that has a colored mat. They might include a board you can cut holes in to frame each image or they might not. You can write or draw on the mat to further personalize it and you can also put the images wherever you like. Make sure you attach the images with something like linen tape so you don’t harm the photo.

One of the great things about collage picture frames is how creative you can get. With all of these pictures you can choose a theme. For example you could have a family member who loves horses. In order to capture the essence of these memories you can put many different photos on a single frame.

To further customize this montage of photos you could find a frame that already follows the style you are looking for. It shouldn’t be too hard to find a collage picture frame that already has something like horses on it. If you are feeling really adventurous you could even buy a plane white frame and put your own images on it.

Other things you could create a themed collage frame around are sports or maybe even a musical instrument. Most people have a child or grandchild who really likes a sport. For example it could be football. You could take an image of them playing when they first started and chronicle their football career all the way up to high school or college.

One other thing you could consider creating a collage for is landscape. A lot of people love to take pictures of landscapes like mountains, sand dunes, valleys, or even the ocean. You could easily collect together your favorite landscape images and put them all in one frame.

How To Pick A Wooden Picture Frame

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

There are a lot of moments we capture in photographs. Many of these are once in a lifetime events that you couldn’t possibly relive unless you wanted to. Obviously you would want to take these great moments with you and your loved ones and display them forever. The best way to do this is in a picture frame.

Picture frames can be made out of just about anything. You can find them made out of wood, metal, plastics, ceramic, or even materials like sea shells. It is all really just a matter of preference according to what you pick, but I find wooden picture frames to be timeless.

There are a lot of different things you need to take into consideration when trying to pick out the perfect frame for your photographs. To get an idea, you need to consider the artwork itself. What is its theme? What will enhance the image?

One of the main things that you need to think about when trying to enhance a photograph is just taking in the photos concept. The furnishings of the room you will be putting it in as well as the colors in the image play a big role. Without upstaging your artwork, the frame just needs to stand out.

A lot of people like to give picture frames away as gifts. This is something that happens pretty often so how can you make it really special? You need to personalize it. There are a lot of ways this can be done. For example a store could engrave it for you.

You could also consider carefully selecting what image you put in the frame. It needs to be a great photograph that both you and the recipient of the gift can relate to. If you are giving the frame to your partner it should be something like an image of both of you together. To give an even more personal touch, make sure you have wrap it.

You could also consider putting fine art photography or even paintings in your wooden picture frames. There are a lot of pre-assembled great looking picture frames on the market that would look great on an image like this. You can tell really quickly how high of quality a frame is just by seeing how secure the corners are.

Once you have your image in your chosen frame you can really experience its essence. I always feel like I am seeing my image for the first time right after I have it hung up in a wonderful frame in the right spot on the wall.

How To Produce Your Own Giant Picture Frames

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Large picture frames are relatively pricey and it is far easier to make your own image frame. One does not have to own artistic skills only imaginations still all have inherent artistic skills. The primary issue you need to try to to is take measurements of the print you want to frame.

Once you’ve got got the measurements you then would like to add on approximately one extra inch all round which will allow for the background sheet. You’ll also want to get some framing tacks, framers masking tape, firm cardboard backing and non reflective glass. You will also want hooks and a chain so that you’ll hang the image up.

Massive image frames are serious therefore it would be wise to buy lightweight materials to create the frame such as aluminum or even even plastic though you’ll get wood that’s not excessively heavy. One will now obtain interlocking frames which are very straightforward to assemble.

When buying the glass you need to choose the thinnest glass. Once you have obtained all the bits and pieces you need you can then begin to frame your picture. Firstly lay the picture on the backing board making sure it straight you can use an adhesive on each corner to make sure the picture does not move.

When the picture is secure you then place the glass over the picture take interlocking frames and slide one of the longest side pieces first and slide it between the board and glass then do the top and bottom and finally slide the other piece on. Your picture frame is now ready for hanging.

When hanging large picture frames you need to make sure the wire is strong enough and that the clips are placed securely or else your picture frame will fall. Get someone to help you hang the picture.

Memorable moments would be the most valuable thing an individual can possess. While they can’t be relived literally, they can be relived emotionally. These important occasions may be shared with other people as well, yet one thing is needed to show others the picture you are thinking about. Photography came out into existence in order to help make this attainable, and photo frames help us to share the photographs we’ve taken.

In nearly every home, individuals have pictures on display. Featuring families, friends and also significant occasions, these pictures are more than just for beautification but to catch at least part of people’s lives. Whether in albums or simply picture frames, photos are essentially a significant part of what we are.

With the use of today’s technology, taking photographs as well as putting them on display is now much easier than ever before. You don’t even have to worry if you’ve got a camera when you wish to take a picture. All you need to do is to have your mobile phone along and each moment is ready to be grabbed. Then, there is a process of transferring the photograph to a personal computer and printing it. Even so, digital photo frames have simplified this also.

Today, along with digital photo frames, it’s not required to actually print the photos to put them on display. Rather than connecting the phone to your pc, it is possible to link it to a digital photo frame as well as transfer the pictures to it. The photo frame could sit anywhere and also keep showing your different photos like a slide show. Hence, you’ll be able to relive as much occasions as possible with much greater simplicity as well as speed. Given that digital picture frames can be set practically anywhere, they let you share the most beautiful occasions of your life in photographs easily and have a much better impact with your photos than was actually possible before.

While traditional picture frames look good, they don’t have such features. You would need to print the images and then fix all of them to the frame individually and clearly cannot enjoy them in the quantity as digital frames permit. There are disadvantages to digital frames however. The main one being they require a power source. Depending on the frame, they either need to be close to an electrical socket for power or even will need periodic battery charging.

Along with their additional capabilities as well as functions, modern picture frames enable people to enjoy photos in ways that were unattainable before. As the technology continues to enhance, they are likely to add more and more functions as well as give people even more options whenever showing their images.

As the attractiveness of digital photography has grown, so have modern photo frames.

Building Good Looking Wooden Photo Frames For Your Own Use

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Everyone who is interested in art knows that wooden photo frames can be expensive when purchased in a store. But what if you want an attractive wooden photo frame that competes with the big boys while offering you a huge price savings?

Here are the steps to making your own wooden picture frame. Follow these and before long you’ll have a great looking frame built to the size you want.

(1)First of all, make sure you measure the mat. The size of your artwork isn’t as important – if you cut your wood according to the size of the art, you’re going to end up with an overly tiny frame. Believe it or not, this step is skipped fairly frequently, or just done wrong. Feel free to measure more than once. This is the time you want to find discrepancies in your measurements, rather than after you’ve already cut everything and have invested time and money into building a wooden picture frame.

(2)Buy the corresponding amount of lumber as per the measurements you took in step one. Begin cutting. Make sure to keep those measurements in mind as you go along, because you’re not going to get another shot at cutting. The lumber should be divided into four pieces, each section is the complete length added the width of the wood multiply by two.

(3)Trim each edge to a nice forty five degree angle. When you’ve accomplished this step, you can assemble your wooden photo frame on a tabletop. If it’s not looking perfect at this point, don’t worry over much. You still have time left to sand down any imperfections that might appear. If it looks big, get your saw back out and start cutting.

(4)Sand down all the pieces when the cutting process is done for good. Try using a belt sander for best results, and remember that you want your frame to be a work of art on its own. Don’t settle for a shaggy looking wooden rectangle.

(5)Glue the angled tips of the wooden pieces and use clamps to keep applying pressure. There is going to be some waiting time here, so go find something else to do while you wait for your wooden picture frame to settle.

(6)Drive some V nails into each of the sides, one facing in and one out. This will make sure your frame stays together even if your glue job fails. It won’t be a permanent fix, but it’ll keep the shape you wanted long enough to re-glue your project.

(7)Remove all the clamps and allow your wooden picture frame to dry. It should be able to sit at least until tomorrow morning, at which time your wooden picture frame should be dry. This is your last shot at perfecting your picture frame, so sand off any remaining edges that are scruffy now, then apply some stain if you’d like a different color than natural wood.

Though wooden photo frames might be expensive in the store, they’re plenty affordable to create yourself. Go with the steps listed above and build yourself a beautiful wooden photo frame that is just as cool looking as anything you’ll find at your local hobby store.
