Cartridge filtration units are fairly basic, with water simply passing through a certain filter to get rid of debris. This works very much like similar filtration systems that many homeowners have on their sinks for purposes of drinking water. There are typically two types of cartridge units, with each varying in regards to price and their longevity, being based on the quality of their elements. For instance, many of the expensive cartridges have a tendency to last significantly longer than those that are slightly less expensive, even going for as long as five or more years.
Finding the right pool filters basically boils down to your overall preference and doing your research. However, in most cases, size does matter, making it important to know ahead of time as to the size of the area needing cleaning and comparing it to how much cleaning the unit will actually cover.
